Untitled Square
Architectural Optics – 2011
Untitled Square was an optical work designed to function in a shared gallery space, part of the experimental and conceptual photography show “Thought Objects.” An eight foot square of canvas received a live image of the sky via a specially designed passive-projection camera obscura. The image was bright enough to be visible along with the ambient room light and other flood-lit photographs. As sky conditions changed, birds and airplanes flew past, the image provided a subtle ever-changing sky image. It brought a piece of the outdoors to an otherwise windowless space.
